I'm obsessed with this top right now. Sooo cute. No idea where it came from, though, it was in a bag of clothes my aunt gave me! anyway. today was pretty good. got some school done - trying to get back into the swing of things a little early. I'm hoping to be done with senior year by January...graduate six months early..how cool would that be? Gah. Pray for me! haha. 

Anyway. this is what else I've been up to today..

I put this cute little cell phone clutch together...inspired from something I saw on pinterest. I have a lot of refining to do, but I think it's a good start. I've decided I need to do something with my creativity besides fill my life with millions of projects to keep for myself...so I'm thinking of starting an Etsy shop. I dunno, we'll see...but I have a lot I could make and sell.

Theeeeen....while I was rummaging through my boxes looking for the box of lace, I spotted vintage polka dot bias tape I scored a few weekends ago...and then came the light bulb. this was the result:

cutest hair bow I've ever made, I think. Mm..I love it so much. totally wearing it tomorrow, too. hehe.

handmade snowglobes

I have been seeing these adorable globes all over for months now, so I had to make my own! :)

Aren't they just darling? I think so! My mom loves them and they literally took about 5 minutes each to make. Here are a couple different tutorials you can follow - but don't feel like you have to! They're so easy it's hard to mess it up!

Last weekend my mom got up early and went to this big garage sale she had heard was going to be happening. I had all those junior high girls over here so I didn't get to go, but she brought me back a lovely surprise! See for yourself!

vintage inspired thank you notes

So my birthday was like what, three weeks ago? almost a month ago?! oh. yeah. I'm a procrastinator. Majorly. But, I don't like sending 'just average' thank you notes. no. I want the person receiving my note to know that I put thought and care into the card that I sent them, thanking them for whatever it is they gave me, or did for me.

I recently came up with this genius adorable thank you note card. It is so cute, sweet, simple, and one sided so you don't have to have all that awkward empty space left over! Ah, I love it. The text says "some things never go out of style, just like saying thank you, so let me be cordial, and extend my gratitude." super cute, I think! Here are two of my favorites:

Maybe sometime soon I'll do a DIY for these, they are so simple and cute! I used Klutz's Paper Fashions stencils for it...I went through an obsessive "paper fashion" phase. Seriously. It was obsessive. I have the notebooks of sketches and designs and outfits and allllll that to prove it. you don't want to see it.

Also, how long does it normally take you to get your thank you notes out? Are you really uptight about it? Or do you just kinda go "When they get them, they get them..."? I always take at least 2 weeks, but that's cause I'm just naturally a procrastinator. ;) ask my daddy...bahahaha.

glass beach necklace.

I made the coolest necklace last week. Like. Legit. You know how I posted about glass beach? Well. For years I've been collecting pieces of glass from there. It's kinda a thing people do. It's like a treasure hunt. The majority of it is little pebbles and green, brown, and clear glass. There is some blue glass in there, but if you look really carefully, you'll find pieces of ceramic and china. And those are the bestest ever :) I took some of my favorite, but not too loved pieces, and created a necklace out of them. Here's some pics :)

It was so simple to make. I used wire, a clasp, glass, and...oh, that's IT! super fun. If you're ever in Fort Bragg, Ca, go to glass beach at all costs. Seriously.

pillows...yes. pillows.

Fact: I am a lover of sewing.

Fact: I will and can make almost anything from, well, almost anything.

Fact: I love JoAnn's.

Fact: More than JoAnn's, I love their fabric remnants basket.

Fact: These pillows cost under $12 for both of them.

Fact: They're just about the cutest thing I think I've ever made. This week... ;) And, even better than that, no pattern was needed...kachow! Freehand patterns are the bomb...

My kitty, Ivy, wanted to be in on the picture taking...and honestly it was just too cute of a picture to deny her that! She does this frequently, however. She's not camera shy...so she's getting her own tag called "kitty kandids"...with a K...classy, I know...muah.

The ruffles are one of my favorite parts. They're so...just yeah. ha... 

The Nautical theme was for my daddy, as well. Our entire basement has this kind of theme carried on throughout it...pretty snazzy and totally adorable if you ask me....*wink*...

Aren't they adorable? Took me an hour and a half to make two; $12 for both, and a source of entertainment for the evening. And, they realllllly look cute in our home theater.
